The central tread area is the only part of the tyre where a permanent repair is approved under BS AU 159. The puncture must be no larger than 6mm in diameter, must sit inside the repairable zone, and the tyre must not have been run while flat. When all three conditions are met, the repair is permanent and good for the life of the tyre.

The shoulder is the curved transition between the tread and the sidewall. Punctures in this area fall outside the BS AU 159 repairable zone. It depends on where the damage is. Punctures in the central three-quarters of the tread are repairable to BS AU 159 standard, a permanent guaranteed repair done on the spot in around 20 to 30 minutes. Sidewall damage, shoulder damage, run-flats driven on while deflated, or punctures larger than 6mm cannot be safely repaired and need replacement. Our technician assesses on site, confirms whether your tyre is repairable, and either repairs it or replaces it from van stock immediately.

12 Do you reset TPMS and torque the wheels to specification after fitting?
Yes. TPMS reset is included on every fitting, on every vehicle. All cars manufactured after November 2014 are legally required to have a working tyre pressure monitoring system, and the warning light must be cleared after any tyre work. Our technicians carry the diagnostic tools to reset both direct-sensor and indirect systems on the spot, and every wheel is torqued with a calibrated wrench to the manufacturer specification.
